SLC Mayor Ralph Becker Praises Former Governor John Huntsman For His Efforts to Combat Air Pollution While Staying Reserved About Governor Herbert
(EnviroNews Utah) – On September 15th EnviroNews Utah anchor Monica Bellenger sat down with Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker in his downtown office to discuss specifically the topic of air pollution in the valley, and exactly what can be done about it.
In this extract from the feature interview, the Mayor praised former Republican Governor John Huntsman for his open commitment and leading work on the Wasatch Front’s crippling air pollution problem, but when asked about the newly inaugurated Gary Herbert, Becker seemed reserved in doling out too much praise for Utah’s new Chief Executive just yet.
Many whom we have spoken to in the local community, and apparently the Salt Lake City Mayor as well, remain skeptical of the Herbert Administrations environmental-friendliness, and believe that it remains to be seen weather or not Gary R. Herbert will follow in the climate-conscious, and environmentally sensible footsteps of this renowned, popular, and often praised gubernatorial predecessor John Huntsman.
