(EnviroNews Utah) – Here in this extracted piece from the sit-down interview with Salt Lake City sophmore Mayor Ralph Becker, news anchor Monica Bellenger asked the helmsman of Utah’s largest city if he feels like he should have an active hand in the quietly festering, yet potentially massive environmental issue in the Snake Valley Water Pipeline Proposal, a.k.a. “Snake Valley Water Grab”.

After waffling a bit on the exact should-be role of Salt Lake’s Chief Executive in regards to larger environmental issues that would impact the local constituency, Mayor Becker did take a strong stance on the climate and green house gas issues.

Coming from an education background in environmental law, it seems that Salt Lake City’s mayor takes the topics of climate change and global warming very seriously, and despite his laid-back and mellow demeanor intends to fight hard to reduce the amount of green house gasses emanating from Salt Lake City proper.
