Bob Brister of the Utah Environmental Congress Rips Tesoro and Speaks Regarding Workers Rights and the Environment at the Tesoro Workers Protest
(EnviroNews Utah) – It wasn’t only disgruntled refinery workers that came out to protest at the Tesoro workers rally, but concerned citizens as well. Bob Brister, who is the Membership Coordinator at the Utah Environmental Congress stood on the corner right along side refinery employees wielding a sign that said “Tesoro, Stop Poisoning US”.
When asked about workers rights and Tesoro’s environmental accountability he ripped the oil company on various issues and said “They are destroying the planet, they get away with it. They kill workers, they get away with it. They poison workers and communities, they get away with it.’
When asked about how Tesoro could be more responsible and reduce their carbon footprint, Brister expressed that in his opinion that was “irrelevant” and rather that we need to get away from burning carbon-based fuels entirely.
